How to Mix Hair Color at Home (Step-by-Step)

5. Measure and Add the Hair Color

6. Measure and Add the Developer

  2. For a 1:2 ratio, add double the amount of developer—two tablespoons, 1 oz, or 30        ml.

7. Mix the Hair Color

  2. If using a bowl, spread out the hair color first before mixing to avoid clumps.
  3. Mix until the texture becomes smooth and creamy, similar to frosting.
